Ancient Africa
Dangeil, Sudan:  We journey to a 2,000 year-old Nubian city in Sudan called Dangeil, a thousand pyramids deep within the sand. Once a prosperous juncture of desert trade routes, its study has been overshadowed by Ancient Egyptian discoveries.  We travel with archaeologists Julie Anderson and Salah Ahmed to its enormous temple of the god Amun, try to find the Nubian version of the Rosetta Stone to decode its mysterious language, Meroitic, and shed new light on the exotic Nubian culture. Produced for The Discovery Channel.
