King Khasekhemwy
2nd Dynasty, Egypt

Limestone figure of the Pharaoh Khasekhemwy found at Hierakonpolis. It dates from the 2nd Dynasty and is the oldest surviving Egyptian Royal sculpture in stone.

Khasekhemwy apparently undertook considerable building projects upon the reunification of Egypt. Tomb V at Umm el Ga'ab in Abydos was built for him.
